Mechanical Tree Harvesting
The six ton excavator has been modified to run a harvesting head capable of cutting up to 340mm in diameter. This machine is perfectly coupled with our alpine tractor, this pair of machines take the manual labour out of our smaller thinning operations, whilst barely leaving a footprint. This machine is capable of cutting 25 tons of timber a day and processing timber into your preset lengths whilst giving you the full volume measurement of every tree.
We also run a larger harvesting equipment for the larger thinning operations and clearfells, this allows us to keep multiple sites running.
Low Impact Woodland Management
Our alpine tractor and forwarding trailer coupled with our low impact harvesting unit allows us to make smaller stand of timber viable that previously would have remained unmanaged. This unit is exceptionally sensitive on the ground but is capable of pulling up to around 50 tons a day depending on the distance of the extraction
Tree Shearing & Grapple Sawing
Using our excavator equipped with tree shear & grapple saw combo is a fast and effective way of dealing with crowded young plantations, dangerous trees, ride widening, and coppicing.
We are also able to use these byproducts from the operations for biomass.
1st & 2nd Thinnings
Using our variety of machinery we are able to thin woodland to improve ecology, timber quality, and growth rates.
Whether it's a hardwood or softwood plantation, products from the management will be used in sawmills, firewood and biomass products.
Clearfell
We have a varied fleet of machinery to accommodate sizeable clearfells of all terrains.
Whether you need a clearfell due to large amounts of wind blow or ash dieback, we can accommodate any volume.
Timber Extraction
Our T series Valtra with roof mounted Botex 570 crane, paired with the XL14 pro timber trailer is capable of pulling timber or brash from the woodland floor to the roadside.
We also run a purpose built Komatsu Forwarder to accompany our larger harvesting operations.
We also operate a 8 wheeled wagon for jobs where secondary extraction is needed.
Handcutting
Our experienced team of chainsaw operators is capable of felling trees where machines may not be able to get access or are too big for the machinery to process.
All of our chainsaw operatives have the relevant NPTC tickets & EFAW +F
Site Clearance
Our tree team and machinery make the perfect pairing for undertaking all types of vegetation clearance projects.
We have been working in this sector for over a decade. Our CSCS & CPCS operatives have undertaken a wide variety of projects from clearing vegetation for highways, power lines, railways to large-scale construction sites & quarries.
Mulching
We offer our mulching services whether it is for removing stumps and brash after forestry operations to provide an enriched woodland floor perfect for restocking.
We also offer different types of mulchers depending on the project, whether it be an excavator mulcher for hard-to-reach areas, a tractor and fixed tooth mulcher, or a purpose-built forestry mulcher. The machines are all operated by NPTC and CPCS trained operatives.
Woodchipping and Biomass Sales
Our Valtra and Heizohack combination is capable of chipping whole trees, turning brash from forestry or clearance projects into renewable energy for use as biomass.
We do sell multiple grades and types of woodchip from virgin log woodchip to arb chip arisings from our arboricultural team.
Firewood Sales
We use timber from our local woodland management operations to supply businesses and domestic customers with seasoned hardwood firewood within a 15 mile radius of Oundle.
We offer various quantities from vents, 1m cubic bag to 35m cubic loose loads.
Timber Sales
Timber from our sustainable Forestry operations is available to purchase by the ton.
Haulage or collection from roadside can be arranged.
Highways
Our team has been carrying out the removal of dead, dying, and dangerous trees nationwide for the last decade, alongside smart motorway projects, and Ash dieback management programs.
Dealing with these time-sensitive projects under mainly night road closures, allows the team to be able to take advantage of using the machinery available to clear large plots of vegetation in a short timescale.
